Old farmer’s house, dating back to the 16th century but having vestiges of older constructions. Until 2020, it was occupied by several generations of masoveros, being used in the style of the 19th century before becoming empty. After 4 years of restoration, the house has been updated to make it more comfortable, but maintaining its essence. 

The house, with a rectangular floor plan and 3 floors, still maintains the stables, although empty, on the ground floor. On the first floor there is a large living room, the dining room and the kitchen, a small room with a “llar de foc” fireplace, the bedrooms and the bathroom. On the third, an open floor, where you can see the beautiful wooden structure of the roof of the house.

Outside, there is the jewel of the house, a small and charming hermitage dating back to the 11th century in which a mass is celebrated every year on the day of Saint Magdalene, the Virgin of the hermitage. In addition, there are several sheds, stables and other facilities for the operation of the old agricultural operation. There is also a large orchard, a couple of fountains, watering holes and a beautiful forest with listed oak trees among many other things.

Last but not least, due to the peculiar location of the house, the views from the exterior are spectacular.

Located less than 1km from Cal Colell’s house, it is a small one-story shed of 26 m2 completely renovated. Due to its privileged location, from its windows you can enjoy even better views than those of the main house.

The loft-type cabin has a living room with kitchen, dining room and a double bed, with a separate bathroom, and a small loft with a mattress ideal for young people or children.

On the path that connects Cal Foguet with Montcalb, about 200 meters away, you can see the highest peaks of Montserrat.

Another way to visit us is by motorhome, we have three different places reserved around the house to accommodate up to 4 motorhomes.

There is the possibility of charging water and electric batteries.

The farm is located north of central Catalonia, in the municipality of Guixers, in the Solsonés region, touching the Berguedá. Curiously, in one part of the property, the boundaries follow those of the regions and provinces: Lleida and Barcelona. The altitude varies between 1,300 meters above sea level at the lowest level of the property and 1,500 meters above sea level at the highest level.

The house belongs to the parish of Montcalb, located on the southern slope of the Santa Margarita peak at 1655 meters above sea level. Behind this peak, you can see the Gallina Pelada and the Creu de Ferro of the Ensija mountain range. Belonging to this parish there are a dozen houses, most of them scattered throughout the territory.

The house is located: 40 minutes from Berga, 45 from Solsona, 30 from Sant Llorenç de Morunys, 70 from Manresa and just under 2 hours from Barcelona and Lleida. Using tracks suitable for 4×4 vehicles, you can reach Gósol or Rasos de Peguera in approximately one hour.

The farm that surrounds the house has an area of about 60 hectares and is half forest, half pasture fields. It has a slope greater than 250 meters, all located on the southern slope. Most of the forest is pine, but there are also oaks, holm oaks, maples, cherry trees, plum trees, beech trees…

By having a beekeeping operation on the farm, during the spring the fields are kept without livestock, maintaining the flowers, creating a colorful spectacle. There is thyme, oregano, wild strawberries, blueberries, mushrooms, and many other berries.

Regarding the fauna, it is easy to see walking around the farm, wild boars, roe deer, foxes, partridges, badgers, hares, eagles, falcons, vultures and of course, bees. In the surroundings of the estate, there are various houses, many of them with hermitages similar to that of Cal Colell.

In this house we have domestic animals that accompany us, cows, chickens, geese, goats, sheep, bees, pigs, pigeons, rabbits, dogs… We hope that the company will soon increase.

On the other hand, there is always the possibility of seeing some of the wild fauna that surrounds us. We have even seen fireflies at our front door!

Make the house and the farm a meeting place, exchange of ideas, cultures and experiences around an exciting natural environment.

The house being the nucleus, around it the aim is to create a pleasant environment adapted to the environment.

We have spent years adapting the house, the surroundings of the house and the farm and although there is still work to do, the results are already noticeable. There is already one floor of the house completely restored, and the other two are already open for restoration. Destroyed sheds have been restored to house the new animals and the old ones have been adapted. On the property, paths and accesses have been reviewed, in addition to fixing the surroundings of the house. One of the pillars of the project is to share the outside space of the house with the animals.
